How to be more impactul as Tracer?

I don't play the game for too long and I've been trying to learn how to play certain characters.

Before trying tracer, I read and watched a shit ton of tutorials on how to play her and she seemed the kind of character I would enjoy.

From what I learned, I should constantly poking people with my weapon, flanking people and making some of them chase me around, to make their defenses weaker, then I get a kill when I seem to have an advantage and use my Ult on some crucial targets (I usually use it to kill healers).

How can I be more impactul than that? I aim for the head, but I often find myself not finding kills and having to retreat. I usually one get eliminations when they are falling back to heal.

I played a game today as Tracer and our team lost. I felt like I did a good job disrupting some of them by stepping on the point from time to time to get them worried, but didn't get many kills.

The enemy team even talked shit about my performance after they won. Not sure if it's a confirmation that I did my job or not, but I would like to improve with her regardless.

So, any tips I'm missing that I haven't seen in any tutorial and, is there some good Tracer player I could watch to try and mimic what he/she does?
