Who is using JITJEA in some capacity?
Are you using this in your org?
I am especially interested in anyone using it in a highly secured, multi tenant environment, but even if you are just fiddling around with it, i would like to hear from you.
What were the specific problems you were trying to solve with it, did you solve them?
What pain points did you experience while planning and implementing?
Were there any major setbacks / roadblocks?
I want to hear your stories.
We are thinking of using it to solve a few problems, one is secure access across domains without trusts, we currently have to use jumpboxes because of security policy as we are a software and services company in the financial industry, with many huge clients that are direct competitors, one of my end goals is to be able to connect to multiple environments from my own workstation in order to perform quick tasks that would normally require logging in to a jumpbox or these isolated servers themselves, and not just me, but my whole team, we will also be able to more easily script operations across hundreds of our clients environments.
Another goal is to be able to write tools that some of our customers can use or scripts they can request to run themselves and when aproval is granted they will run, we can develop the system for permission granting, thats no problem, its just balancing security with ability that is the main reason we are looking into this.
Another important thing is that we have lots of servers that run automation in these segmented environments where many employees might log in to the same machine throughout the day to do different tasks, but they all use the same user and session due to the way the automation on those systems was implemented. It would be really nice to have better logs so we can easily distinguish who logged in when and did what, we could also potentially use this to develop a better methodology for knowing when spot maintainance is being done and by who for better cross department cooperation.
I know for a lot of this stuff we dont need jitjea, but alot of it seems like jitjea might be the best, most complete solution.
So, again, i would love to hear from anyone who has real experience using jitjea, especially in a highly segmented, multi tenant situation, but really from anyone who has done more than play around with it on their own workstation.
Thanks in advance.
