Best way to visualize Snort/Suricata output?

I'm looking to setup Snort or Suricata on my local network and curious if there are any web based dashboards to visualize the output. I am also curious to know how people setup alerting systems (email or sms?) to fire alerts for high severity issues.

I only see that most people suggest using ELK to visualize the data, but this seems like an awful lot of work to get going. Is there anything quick and easy to setup snort or suricata and make sense of the results?
