Advice on dealing with unsupportive parents

I've been skating for about 5 months, but more consistently within in the last and one of the major inhibitors of my progression is honestly the lack of support and overwhelming amounts of doubt I receive from my parents. As a beginning skater late in the game and also being a girl I feel like my parents aren't really all for it. I know it really doesn't matter what my parents think but everytime I talk about it I always receive comments about how they don't care and how theyd rather me not talk about it or how it's a waste of money to support the sport and for me to buy parts I need. It's pretty shitty because I don't really have any other friends who skate so I don't have an outlet to talk about skating with and to also progress with. Since there's a lot of you guys on this subreddit, any advice if you've been in the same boat as me with having unsupportive parents?
