Can someone help me with a magical object?

Dear r/WorldBuilding,

I'm working on a world build right now and I need some help creating a magic wand. Something from the video game "The Last Guardian" inspired me. I thought it would be really interesting if there was a magic wand made from the same substance as the building material of the temple at the final section of the game. Like something along the lines of the Fairy Godmother from Cinderella's wand.

Here's what I have so far: crystalline, cybernetic (kind of like a microchip), kind of like a fiber optic. What I had in mind would look a lot like the basic white rod in that picture but it giving it some of the qualities of that building material is I need some help with. For example, it could "shimmer" like a microchip when its being used (or something like that).
