Questions from someone who has never vaped and is about to purchase one.
Hey guys. I had a few questions and figured this would be the perfect place. I've never vaped weed before, only nicotine, and feel like they aren't very comparable. I'm thinking about getting a used vape from r/entexchange since they seem a lot more affordable. I'm not vaping for the health, but more of just trying something new.
Portability/stealth are also not a concern since I can freely smoke in my room/on our Sundeck freely whenever I want.
First, how is vape tolerance? I have a pretty high tolerance right now; its a little lower from not smoking as much over Christmas break but I'll be going back to school soon where I smoked 1-3 times a day on average. I usually smoke from a bong it my bubbler, but thought I'd try vaping to see if I like it. Is vaping less effective than smoking bowls if I already have a high tolerance? I can't remember where, but I could swear I saw some post -probably on here - saying that people with high tolerances usually don't get p high from vapes.
Second, how is the vape high? I've heard that it's very different from combustion, but combustion is all I've ever known.
Third, are there any stipulations with buying a used vape? I'm thinking of getting a used vape (Arizer Solo) for close to ~$70 but am a little concerned because of all the posts on here about the plastic smell, having to replace the vape 3-4 times, getting fake units, etc. Again I've never vaped so I wouldn't want to waste my money on something I'll never use again. I'll probably buy a new stem for good measure. From my own research, it seems like especially for the Solo because of the Li battery, I'll have to eventually replace the battery. Does anyone know how many cycles it takes to kill the battery and need replacement?
Also, I know the Arizer Solo varies a lot with differing models throughout the years it's been manufactured. All the serial #s I've seen seem to match a pattern of "M#Letter###...". This one starts with "M115C5...".
I know that the Flowermate v5.0s is a good beginner vape, but the used Arizer Solo is near the same price. If it being used is not an issue, it seems obvious to get the Solo. If it being used is an issue, I guess I'd rather get the new Flowermate for a close price.
Let me know what you guys think. I'm honestly just not sure that I'll like vaping and am looking for some assurance that it's as great as people say it is. Thanks guys! Sorry for the long long long post :/
