Gearing up, Math is your Friend

So I have covered already about skills, even recently added in the essence costs for that, so I got some feed back from the reddit community and am going to present the data that I have for gearing up.

Gear represents one of the ways to improve your characters stats, the others being ranking up(stars), and leveling up.

Gear represents the largest significant single gains you can have for stats, as well as being the only way to improve stats like speed or crit chance or AP(affinity power), and a couple other similar ones. The gains may start out fairly small for lower level gear, but get to be incredible buffs at high levels. Gear can be earned in campaign mode when you complete a battle, or from the daily timed events that are dedicated to the specific affinity(Mystical Archive, Physical Showcase, Absolute Energy) that are opened twice a week. It is a generally accepted practice to use gems to reset these events if you have the extras, because that means better gear. Lets take a look at what you will need to raise your gear levels:

LevelT1T2T3Essence
12200
24500
3641000
4863000
510866000
61210810000
714/5121015000
816/514/101221000
918/1016/151430000
1020/101816/2045000
Total14011386131700
All 6840678516790200

Materials with a x/x mean that you need 2 different types of that level of material, there are 4 types per affinity, with 3 levels each, so 12 materials for each affinity, for a total of 36 different materials in the game specific to gear.

This link is a spread sheet provided by u/Infuser that details what the drops look like in the timed events, if you are having a question about what node to farm he does a pretty good job of showing drop rates.

Note - if you see a mistake, please let me know, I am not 100% on the accuracy of my chart as I have not personally gotten past gear 7 yet, and so the details for the later levels are fuzzy and i'm not sure how clear previous conversations I have had were.

Thank you u/LootBoy9000 for helping to correct my slightly off numbers, and giving a very detailed view for all materials necessary. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1r2MFiDenjvwZCWrmmbL9IzgH8mkTevz0Su46DL3kahc/edit#gid=757607206

I hope this helps. and as always, enjoy.
