87ovr IPOTG Nylander review!

Other

Packed this guy from Xmas rewards and decided to do a review and it's been awhile since my last one. All games were played in D1. He plays 4th line RW with TOTW Strome and MOV Staal. Also in 2nd PK with MOV Staal.

15 games, points: 10+5

Synergies activated: WW, DD, TW, T

Skating: 9,5/10

Nylander is just nuts. His skating speed and acceleration are absolutely insane. First time after using Bure, I can shout NAAAAAANG whenever he gets the puck and starts blasting along the boards. He is agile as fuck but as a small guy he gets rocked if someone catches him flatfooted. But like Gaudreau said, in order to hit him you have to first catch him. Tough task when talking about Nylander.

Shooting: 8/10

Nylander can pick corners but his shot IS far from automagic. Slapper is I'd say almost below average. He can 1T but don't expect anything stunning.

Hands: 8.5/10

Nylander has sweet dangles and he looks smooth with the puck. He's no Backstrom though so I don't try to sauce the puck through traffic with him, ever. With him you are better off deking your way to heavens.

Physical: 7.5/10

Like I said, small guy will get rocked but he can hold his own. Surprisingly fast to recover from hits and he sometimes seems to bounce from a hit to the boards, pick up the puck and continue his journey which just looks adorable.

Defense: 8.5/10

What a beast. He is no way a liability in your own end, he seems to be positioned well most of the time. With his speed, he is great for aggressive pokecheck-forechecking and even better at backchecking. I like to use him on PK and most of his goals are from breakaways when shorthanded.

Nylander is adorable player with blazing speed and good hands. He finds open spots on the ice and even though his defensive stats aren't that great, he is absolutely usable. Can 100% recommend him.
