[LSD Sessions] - A Conversation With Myself
"You're lazy, a dreamer
An under-achiever
Forgotten and certainly lost,
You've waited too long
I'm right and you're wrong
Don't you know life comes at a cost?
Their thoughts are so grand
And yours much too bland
Grow up dear it's time to get real,
Give up on your dream
Get a job, join the team
The normal and proper ideal.
You dare touch that pen
I'll say it again
A poor sort of life you will see -”,
But I'll still have my soul
Without which I'm not whole
So poor but quite happy I'll be.
Backstory: I spent years taking LSD and other psychedelics and writing under the influence, more as an experiment than anything else. I have no interest in publishing and loathe the idea of blogging, so I finally swallowed enough courage to share some of the collection here on Reddit because...why the hell not? It's probably shit. I know that rhyming poetry sort of fell out of style last century, but so did typewriters and I still use one of those...
