Visiting friends at OSU and need suggestions

Hi there, My girlfriend and i are planning on going and visiting some friends who go to OSU and are looking for suggestions of restaurants and places to go and see or do throughout the day. We will be down between the 19th-21st. We are college aged and love trying new foods. I love good beer, she doesnt like any. but mostly im looking for some of the best foods in the area. Any suggestions would be really helpful. Also looking for suggestions of activities to go and do during the day with friends. Cool places to see, parts of downtown to visit and the like. Thanks ahead of time for the responses!

Ah, but you don't get the historic significance.

Oh well that's makes much more sense I was thinking like "someone going to recommend McDonald's next?"

If you really want to dig the historic significance, the flagship restaurant (4555 W Dublin Granville Rd, Dublin) has a room full of cool memorabilia. Unfortunately it's not in the campus area.

Condado's is amazing. It's by far my favorite place here. It's right on the edge of the short north, and they have amazing tacos and margaritas.

When you search for it, if it makes it any easier, it's officially called "Condado" with no "'s" and the campus one is in the short north near High St and 5th Ave.

Going to second the North Market suggestion. It's a fun spot and everyone can try different types of food if they want.

Going to go against the grain and say DON'T get Canes. It's fast food chicken. As a matter of fact, if you want to experience Columbus food, you can pretty much skip anything directly on Campus, with a few exceptions. If you get drunk at night, that's when you get Canes, or Apollo's, or Catfish Biffs.

Los Gauchos or Condado for mexican. Aab or Dosa Corner for Indian food. Check out Katalina (near campus) for a good brunch / lunch spot.

There are galleries downtown. The Gateway Film Center typically has some unique shows (and a student discount).

www.columbusunderground.com has a good listing of events and things going on in the city at any given time.

Im sure there will be a night where i need goo drunk food so ill keep that in mind but yeah that more like what i was looking for is something more local and less chains. So thanks :)

Los Gauchos > Condado in my opinion.

Short North is where you are going to want to be. Most bars and restaurants are within a short walking distance after a short uber ride there.

Breakfast- Hangover Easy, Jack and Bennys, Buckeye Donuts

Healthy American Eats - North Star Cafe

Fancy Ass Drinks - Martini

Mexican - Condado Tacos

Seafood - The Pearl

Italian - Marcella's

Columbus is a huge test market for bars and restaurants. These are just the best in that particular area (except for the breakfast options). Columbus has so much more to offer depending on your price range. My list is all average to slightly overpriced. If you want to check out any events Columbus Underground is the website to find ideas and restaurant reviews.

I'd suggest Denmark if you want fancy drinks.

I don't know how much of a factor price is, but there is a hofbrauhaus in grandview that I like a lot. Good beer and food.

As others have suggested, Canes is really good. You should also check out Fusian, and if you're in the mood for pizza, you should check out Blaze.

Canes, you have to eat Canes. But, the one near campus, not downtown.
