More question about the future of the Imperium

Fluff

I was reading the Eldar Craftworld codex thinking about what the original Eldar would be like before the fall. Edifices, Harlequins, Dark Eldar and Craftworld Eldar all came into existence along the timeline of the fall of the Eldar. They each are examples of different facets of Eldar thought and belief.

Is it possible we could be seeing a similar split developing in the imperium of man? There would be something like primitive man. Maybe a reactionary branch of the imperial creed. Some form of advancing technological group like an ad mech led faction. We have a chaos faction. The imperial factions don't have to and probably shouldn't follow similar cleavage to the Eldar factions.

I'm not sure what the other facets that would break into their own groups but I'd love to hear what others think.

At this point, either the Imperium triumphs of Chaos rules over all. What you're describing is more like the situation in 30k, after the Dark of Technology human empire fell and the Age of Strife ensued.

Or the tyranids eat everything, stamping out the psychic angst that fuels the Chaos Gods. Or the Orks do the same, I don't think Chaos can feed directly off them either.

There's Chaos Orks in some of the old fluff - 1e 40k/Rogue Trader had Khornate Orks, and 3e had Nurgle Orks in the Daemonhunters codex. It's just rare since the regular Orks will sense that there's something unOrky about them and try to kill them, so you need to corrupt an entire group of them at once.

And autocorrect bit me. I meant to say Lore Questions.

I belive the battle will rage on, with higher stakes. Primarch vs. Daemon Prince et cetera. Larger battles fluff-wise with more casualties and planets being blown up. But there are hundreds of thousands of planets and trillions of people to throw in the meat-grinder. Grimdark 2.0, with more ridiculous casualty numbers seems the way to go from here with 40k.
