[GEAR] Looking for opinions on this guitar

GEAR

Here's a guitar I recently acquired and I'm looking for feedback on it. Just aesthetics. I've grown kind of attached to it, but I wonder if it's just me. Love it? Hate it? Let me know.

Negative criticism welcome, you won't hurt my feelings, I need a reality check.

It could use some strings. Other than that I like it.

Lol. Still waiting on some replacement tuners.

nice guitar, i think a guitar always looks better with some natural wear on it. a clean new guitar with no scratches doesn't really strike me as nice but something with half the paint worn off from years of playing is beautiful.

Looks classy, can't criticize much from one picture. Only thing that looks 'off' to me is the saddle positions. It probably needs a good setup after you get your tuning machines and strings.

Good eye, you're exactly right.

I like it!

Looks awesome, that's some classic looking road-wear. My dream is to play my stray till it looks like that.

Oh thanks. It's kind of a crappy picture, but it's actually fiesta red over antique gold. You can't really make out much of the first paint job in the picture though.

I'm an sucker for a Mark Knopfler lookalike... I love it! Tasteful natural wear too.

I like it, if it stays in tune well its a keeper. I'd probably upgrade the pickups and the hardware if needed, but the body and neck look great. Very classy

It's got Alnico V pickups on it now and a vintage bridge. Just debating between locking tuners or vintage-correct Klusons.

Was it relic'd with a campfire axe or what.

Too much? Or not convincing enough? Or too much to be convincing?

too much and the way it symmetrically over the bend makes it look like someone just took too good swings at it. Still a very nice guitar and this is just my opinion. A lot of people love that look. If it works for you that's all that matters. Fuck what anyone else thinks you're the one playing it.

I'm not offended, I was looking for honest feedback. This isn't my #1 so I don't take this personally.

Have you ever seen a heavy relic that you liked?

What do you think of this one:

Hope I'm not bugging

I guess Relics just aren't my thing. I don't like that one either. Sweetwater has a relic tele custom shop hanging up and I can't get into it either. I don't mind the ones that have the minimal relic work around where the arm wear would be and some of the vibrato marking on the neck, but a lot of these just look like someone left a guitar in the room with a drunk and a pressure washer.
