Paul Bissonnette RD Review
So, I've had Biznasty on my team for a while now; now I've decided to make a review, mostly because I'm putting off an essay due later tonight. 2nd RD with HH active, in addition to team synergies of 1T, CG, TW, and SB.
41 GP, 8G, 19A, +13, 8 PIM.
Team he is playing on https://hutdb.net/17/builder/100011
Before all the ratings for each category, my best moment with Bissonette: (Sorry for the music):

Alright categories time-
Hands- 7.25/10
He's a grinding, punishing forward. Expecting him to just windmill, toe drag, and shake by to a highlight reel goal is just unrealistic. There is a reason you play Biznasty, but its not his hands.
Skating-8.5/10
Initially, I expected him to get blown out of the water by speedy forwards. His skating, while not dominant, is more than good enough to keep up with quicker forwards even while backskating, allows him to keep close to the play and use his dominant defensive skills. TW is mostly likely a must though.
Shooting- 8.5/10
With only an 87 shot rating, I expected him be the guy to bury rebounds and nothing more. Once on the back-end though, his slapshot has been a solid contributor, even despite it's 78(!) accuracy. It should be noted though that these categories so far aren't the reason Bissonette deserves to be on your team, so his speed and shot have been bonuses for me.
Defensive- 10/10
Here is the main attraction, Bissonnette's bread and butter. With the synergies I have, his DA is 96, SC is 93, blocking is 96, checking is 103, and Str is 102. With all of that, there is a reason Bissonnette is, without a doubt, my most consistent defensive player. Positioning solidly, stick checking when needed, body checking responsibility, and more to boot; name amazing defense and Bissonette does it. If you need a shutdown defenseman and don't care about synergies, he is your man 100%.
X-factors- 9.0/10
One thing that comes to mind about Bissonnette's play: his ability to tilt the opponent. His big hits make opponents try to hit back with players who can't, resulting in odd man breaks or strong cycles. He effectively starts a pissing match that only another 95+ body checker can compete. He might not be the one scoring, but between wearing down the players or just flat out hitting them out of the game, Bissonette leads the team with his checking.
Overall- 8.5/10
If this was as a forward, it'd be much less. Putting him on defense allows Bissonnette to play to his strengths (stick play and checking), while hiding his weakness (inaccurate wrister and average speed). If you have made it this far, try out Bissonette for at least 5 games on the back end and see how it goes. It allowed a whole lot more stability on my back end.
