1st one is the only one that needed to be on there. A drug dealer is more of a law enforcement thing than a landlord thing
True
Agreed, but I think the letter is showcasing the decline in quality neighbors and uptick in problems since Asprient took over.
Also, based on their reputation, I can't imagine Asprient handled the shooting professionally.
Regardless they're a shitty company and have obviously pissed people off.
Also True. I have noticed a big difference in the people that the Mills rented to vs Asprient tenants. Nothing as bad as this but just basic inconsiderate things that weren't happening before.
They leased the guy the place without a background check AND an Asprient employee let in the shooters.
Source: I live at Artloft.
I haven't had a background check when I rent...
Usually they group up credit and background checks together.
NEVER RENT ASPRIENT. Im new to the city and currently halfway through my lease with them. Huge mistake. They are terrible.

Asprient ran the Artlofts into the ground at a pace so fast I thought I was in some social experiment game show. Theyve only owned the building since September but have managed to leave the garage wide open for weeks at a time broken, Ive had to step over homeless people sleeping in the stairwells coming in late in the night in he building. The call box of the front door has been broken for months as well, meaning you have to go down and open the door instead of buzzing them in. Theyve cited mold buildup due to tac holes in the wall and not given leases back on numerous deposits ofbfolks who have moved out. For som reason they had a dude working for them change evsry lock in the building despite the locks being fine, and he installed what seemed like was held together with chewing gum, two bolts fell out of the lock ahen we first opened it and the deadbolt didnt even lineup with the hole in the door for it, which was two different sizes so you could literally wiggle the door open. At one point three people on my floor were fumbiling with these new locks all at once in the hallway to open them.
Funny enough a dude who was out of the country for a month in the building had a maintenance dude go into his apartment while he was gone and his camera caught him going in a back room, when given the footage the manager said "he heard a noise and went to investgate".
Yeah, their new company Central PM bought my building. Suddenly I started having packages stolen (never happened before) & lots of "we'll be here on such & such day to do such & such work" that never happened. I ended up texting the prop mgr & said don't text me anymore saying you're going to do stuff b/c you never do.
Is that framed? Did somebody frame that and install it publicly? That's pretty cool.
Lol that would have been cool. There is a frame installed in the evator for announcements. Flip the corners and papers slide in.
Funny they rent to a dealer b/c when I had to sign the lease with them (not to extend anything, just b/c they bought the building) they say no drug usage, etc.
Shame, I lived in Ely Walker for about 5 years. Used to be a great building.
When I rented from them in the CWE I was sitting in my living room and a maintenance guy literally just walked in. I heard the key in the door and I was stunned into silence; when he walked in he just stared at me and then backed out and grunted something.
Couple of good stories to share:
Asssprints bought the nice apartment building I was living in halfway through my lease and decided to redo all the units around mine. The workers they had doing it would always been fighting and yelling with each other in some sort of foreign language (not Spanish). One day I heard some work being done in the apartment above me with some sort of saw, then I hear "STOPSTOPSTOP" and a large crash, followed by another long argument. Subway tile backsplashes and granite counters look good with their high contrast hdr filter, but says nothing about the quality of the craftsmen who installed it.
Another time I was trying for weeks to work with the property manager (same one on the flier) who oversaw mine and about 30 other buildings they own to fix something that broke. Anyway I had never saw this person, except through email and wanted to know who I was dealing with and so I googled their name. A fox2 story about a young couple who stole a puppy from a shelter popped up.
Anyway I decided to move.
Jesus fucking Christ. You weren't kidding. You can't make this shit up.
Area code matches.
As someone who just signed a lease with these people....Fuck.
Shit. I was going to your park lux tomorrow. Should I avoid? It's managed by this company
Avoid Asprient at all costs. Do a search on this sub and look at all the not recommended Yelp reviews to get an idea of what they're like. They also go by citywide, central PM, and various other mountain related companies.
Jeez they change names like people change clothes.
Do not, under any circumstances, rent from Asprient.
Source: rented from Asprient, they are all pieces of shit.
I would avoid them. They took over Ely Walker about a year ago and the moment they took over shit went down hill. We love the building and managed to find another unit that was owned privately and we haven't had any issues since. But the people around us that are with asprient have a bunch of complaints. (Hence this letter in the elevator). Stay away from them if you can. But on the other side they own a lot of prime properties. So it sucks to avoid them.
Well thanks guys! I'll definitely scratch them off my list. We're having a hard time finding good reputable rental agencies in St Louis, any recommendations?
Depends on your price range and where you want/need to live.
I've used the Mills company quite a few times and they have always been great. Maybe try them. Good Luck!
I've heard multiple horror stories about them over the past several years.
Park Lux has an elevator that breaks randomly with people in it, leading to fire alarms in the middle of the night. Also security is nonexistent.
