S2 Mitch Marner Review
Marner goes for around 30k on XB1. Not sure on PS4. This little speed demon is pretty amazing and I am going to tell you why.

Skating - 9.5/10
He is an elite skater. He is small and has high base skating numbers and they really show through. Even with no TW he zips around out there. I can just imagine how quick he will be with that turned on.
Hands - 9.5/10
He has fantastic hands and controls the puck well. His passes seem to be on target and he has silky smooth dekes. I have only recently started using dekes regularly and he makes it easy mode.
Shooting - 8.5/10
His shot is good. I scored more on breakaways than on straight up shots but he did snipe at least one for me in the handful of games I played with him. Definitely no complaints. I wouldn't put him up there with Shanny, OV, Stammer but really good shot for an 88.
Checking - 3/10
Not sure what to put here because I am not sure I tried to hit anyone with him. Can he bump a small guy off the puck? Sure but his value is with the puck or without it in the offensive zone.
Defense - 7.0/10
I didn't really notice any deficiencies here. I also didn't notice him being out of position much so 7 feels about right. His speed does help him on the backcheck.
Awareness - 9.0/10
His offensive awareness is top notch. He is always in position for the 1T on the off wing. I came around the net and he was setup for it basically every time. His defensive awareness seems fairly average.
Not sure what his stats were while using him but easy point a game or more. This was competitive seasons on one of my alts.
Final thoughts - For 30k he adds a lot of speed and offense for a pretty low cost and he has that X synergy which to me is one of the more interesting of the S2 synergies. Even without that he can rack up the points. I guess his only downside is his size. I tend to prefer bigger forwards but this guy reminds me a bit of a budget Sullivan and that is definitely a good thing.
