In January 2017, I purchased a WWII Replica Vintage Brown Leather Aviator Pilot Helmet Cap XL/2XL Sold by: Adventure Five. The helmet was not tall enough to pack shielding on the top. The lining was synthetic leather and reeked. I returned it.

Size XXL. Tall enough to stuff a lingerie bag packed with bamboo charcoal. However, there is too much space to hold a cotton drawstring bag of charcoal against the ears. The tie strap cannot tie tight enough to hold the small bags. The XXL size is large enough to wear a wool cap underneath and still stuff the charcoal lingerie on top. The wool cap provides extra warmth and is tight enough over the ears to hold a small cotton drawstring bag of carcoal over each ear.
Leather tie straps tend to become untied. I wish the helmet had a chin strap with a buckle like the first aviator helmet had. The helmet fell off while getting up this morning. I will return it. I will find a XXL with a chin strap and buckle.
