Matt (Scumbag) Cookie Player review [With clips]

Hey y'all! Been more or less a week since i've made a sexy player review. So for the past couple of days i've collected some cookies to give and share to you :)/s. No but really i've played maybe around 20 games more or less with the one and only scum, matt cooke. So how does he stack up? Is he good? Bad? Lets find out!

Reference. Games played in CS, friendlies against fellow redditors and against good players. I have never won the D1 title but I have never been relegated into a lower division since I started playing NHL 15. Synergies : CG,HH,TT.

Skating 8.8 (I consider sullivan to be a perfect score of 10/10)

So lets start with his speed and skating. In summary: he is above average. Cooke has not the lighting speed of bourque and sully. But he can 100% hold his own As you can see here. What I am saying is that he will not feel slow and drag your line down. If I had to compare him to a player it would be manny malhotra 92 overall. While his cruise speed may not be as good as sullivan and bourque, hes good some elite agility. His agility is pretty much the best you can get in the game from what I've seen. As a plus, his speed makes it easy to deliver CRUSHING Hits, but we'll get to that in a bit...

Shooting 9 (I consider Bucyk/MS Lindros to be perfect)

What comes to mind when you think of matt ? Elite shooting of course! No but honestly, Cooke has one of the best wristers in the game (imo). Well, maybe not but it is sooo effective. Here is an example. Its got a very quick release and its not the hardest shot but it is ridiculously accurate. Think kessel on steroids. However, the cook's menu isnt specialised in slapshots. He's got a good one-timer as you can see Here. But when it comes to slappers, hes no bourque. Honestly I haven't tried much slappers but from what I've seen its not his specialised domain...

Danglez and saucez 8.8 (I consider 92 manny to be perfect)

After getting money out of his wallet continuously by paying fines to the NHL. Cooke's got some sweet mits. His dangles and Puck control and awareness are nothing less than elite (I'll reuse this clip btw). When it comes to dekes, very good. Here he dekes the goalie and here he dekes the goalie in a very tight space. Passing is allright, not much to say negative or positive. In summary, he wont blow you away but he is incredibly effective and good.

Defense 👏👏Defense 8.5

I am very guilty of not putting cooke on the PK and I have to apologize for that. BUT, he is quite good defensively. He doesnt have the biggest reach but his pokes feel good,smooth and strong^thatswhatshesaid. In my other clip, starting at the 15sec mark, he makes some very good pokes and defensive play. He is definitely in the above-average category. Would use on defensive situations.

Physical (Eeeh Duh!)

Bing-Bong-Bang-Boop. Think of bizznasty. Well, thats cooke. Except he doesnt take as many penalties as I thought! He is suprisingly one of my most disciplined players despite his rating and reputation prove quite the contrary. In this example this summarize my experience perfectly. Big hit, big shift, big goal. If you are looking for a hitter, look no further, hes your man.

CONCLUSION.

Ya hes pretty good (lol). In one sentence : Physical discount bure. He is a rare, elite and underrated player. One of my fav cards in the game. For 150k>. He is (imo) a must buy.
