Hero Foote Review

Team Advice

Quick Stats:

  • Plays RD with Hero Wilson on my 1st pairing in D1/CS games

  • HH, 1T, CG, and T activated

  • Costs around 120k on PS4 iirc

  • Stats were reset (sounds familiar...) when I checked but iirc he had around .5-.6 ppg through 100-ish games

Skating: 8.5/10

Foote's card is not one you would pick up for lightning fast speeds, although his footspeed is not terrible. While he may seem a little slow, he has long strides that carry him over more ice than anticipated, fooling opponents who think they can cheat and blow by him. Foote is probably one of the best endurance skaters in the game, as his skating never changes from the start of the game till the end, only deteriorating when he's tired, naturally. But once he gets back into the green bar, he's as good as before.

Puck Skillz/Passing: 9/10

Foote is very good at controlling the puck. Once he grabs it, it is very hard for defenders to take it off of him due to his high puck control stat of 96 with CG on. Usually, if he loses the puck, it will be because I did a bad job of shielding the puck from opponents, but other than the odd time, Foote is a possession beast. His passes are also nice and crisp, and he has surprisingly good hands for a DFD. Overall he excelled my expectations in this department.

Shooting: 8.5/10

The amount of times I've sent bombs from the point with Foote are countless. Giving Foote just even a small amount of space can make you regret it instantly, as his slapshot is an absolute missile. As soon as he makes contact with the puck it's already at the opposite end of the zone, giving the goalie little time to react. However, his accuracy tends to lack sometimes from the point, and his wrister, while good for a defender, isn't the go-to you want for Foote, seeing as most of his shots will come from the point. Still, if Foote can get it on the net, chances are it'll go in.

Physical: 9.5/10

Setting a physical tone is pretty much Foote's biggest asset imo. He has the ability to impose his will on pretty much every player in his game with his 6'2 220 frame and his 97 checking category. He only needs to get to about half speed to send a guy straight on his ass, and is able to take most runs and checks. If you can master lining up opponents, Foote will definitely be a fun card to use.

Defense: 9.5/10

Foote does a solid job at preventing scoring chances. As stated earlier, Foote is a possession beast, making it hard for opponents to even start a breakout, and if they do, Foote's amazing stick checking and physical play can cause turnovers and prevent grade A scoring chances from occurring. He plays a sound positional game in his own end, and is very keen on making that first pass to transition the play from offense to defense. In short, he makes scoring very difficult for the other team.

Is he worth it???

Big, mobile defenseman who can score for around 120k? You'd be crazy not to grab Foote on your team unless his synergies don't fit into your squad. Probably the second most fun defenseman I've played with in this game, first being ASG Weber. Foote is always reliable, and is one of those cards that can change the tone of the game just by how he plays. I'd recommend him 110%.
