My Willie Hits Hard - A Willie Mitchell (SS) Review (08.Feb.17)

Team synergies active: tw, 1t, cg.

Player synergies: dr 2, hh ('is' synergy not active)

Played on: 2nd line RD with hero Murphy in div 1.

In order to boost my div 1 chances I decided to bulk up my D. Chief among the reshuffle was buying Mitchell, I picked him up for 250k at some point mid/late January (ps4).

Lets look at his categories:

Skating 9/10

Without team wheel it wouldn't be a 9, but I call em as I see'em.

He's a big guy, but 96 acc, 102 agility and 96 speed means he's not lacking in the skating department.

The extra speed makes lining up and executing hits even more fun and effective.

Shooting 5/10

I've pretty much stopped shooting with Mitchell. With an ssa of 77 (that's not a typo) and wsa of 82, you're really not going to hit the net. His ssp is maxed and wsp is at 97 though, so whatever you hit will break into puny non Mitchell size pieces, but that's about all you'll accomplish.

Hands 6.5

He has actual human hands, not hooks, so I'll give him a 6.5 for the ten fingers ten toes baby test. But you really shouldn't test them more than that. His deking attribute of 77 and hand eye of 80 (77 without 1T) will attest to this.

Thanks to my synergies he has 97 passing and 94 puck control, so he's not a complete embarrassment, as long as you go in a straight line and pass it off to someone else.

Checking 10/10

Oh I'm sorry, were you trying to enter my D zone with the puck? Would you like me to call you an ambulance now?

Much like in my younger days; my Willie hits hard and is totally unforgiving in his pursuits.

6'3" 210 lbs with aggressiveness 99, body checking 106, strength 104....say no more.

Defense 10/10

His attributes for defensive awareness, blocking and stick checking are all maxed. Combined with his size and speed this makes Mitchell an unstoppable force on defense. You cannot fault him in his own zone.

Summary

Mitchell is the quintessential shut down D man and will steady any hut defense. Just don't expect him to put up too many goals or win any deking awards.

I will definitely keep a firm grip on my Willie for the rest of the year.
