TOTW 93 Hedman Review

Okay so I pulled this card with the christmas packs and he is my current leading scorer. He's a pretty complete player overall. Fast, strong, good shot, great defense. I'll be including some video clips in this review as well.

Games played in a lot of CS and in my grin from D10 to D2 and multiple seasons in D2. I'll edit in his points later. Current Line: 1st RD paired with Hero Adam Foote, PP1, PK1 Active Synergies: 1T, CG, TT, TW

He can really move, very quick for a 6'6 230# player. Takes a bit to get up to speed but once he's going watch out. He can carry end to end and I find myself using him to start the rush way to often because its so easy to. Super agile for a player of his size as well. I think he feels just a bit more sluggish than Sullivan, but considering the size difference it makes sense.

You'll probably never deke through a team with him, but he is very strong on the puck. His size and strength make it very easy to protect the puck with simple moves and his agility makes it easy to maneuver through zones while brushing off hits. If he's around the net he very often picks up a rebound and bangs it home, doesn't often whiff on 1T's either.

I think this is the second best part of his game. He has a BOMB of a shot. If it's not going in, it's going to be tipped or leave a hell of a rebound. Don't let the lower accuracy fool you, his shots tend to find there way to the net. He also has a pretty good wrist shot, if he finds his way into the slot he ran rip those home too. His poise also allows him to rip some clutch shots too. I've had him score a few game tying goals or game winners for me.

This is probably his best category, as it should be. He's GREAT at getting back and saving breakaways. He's also great at getting a stick on passes through the slot and breaking up plays. I often just let the AI take care of things with Hedman since his awareness is so high and I couldn't do better. Also a great shot blocker. His endurance allows me to play him in any situation. He can also disrupt plays with his body. He can hit, and he hits HARD. Quite a few injuries have occurred after a run in with Hedman.

Overall this is my favorite card to use I have so much fun with him. When i'm in need of a goal I make sure he's on the ice and he usually at least gives me a really good shot at scoring. He's definitely pricey, but for a stacked team I think he's a neccessity if you have the cash.
