Just my opinion. But it's a good opinion! Believe games are art? Then defend art's right to offend!
A 15 minute video without a transcript.
Why do you agree or disagree with this video?
Should game devs be more like Beyoncé ?
Do you approve or disapprove of what Beyoncé wore at the grammys?
Would Beyoncé be criticized as an exoticised minority if she were in a video game?
Is it a eurocentric, puritan, sex negative approach to say sexualized women = bad?
Should developers tell their story, and if somebody says the story is offensive, don't give a fuck?
Should the artists right to offend be sacrosanct? Do the very same people who think video games are art want to take away this right?
Do movies and music go out there and be super controversial, but game developers don't want to offend anyone? If so, then why does this difference between mediums exist?
Does all this idea of shunning the exotisized minority does is stamp out the ability of people in other cultures to play in the sandbox too?
Is there a lot of western myopia and tunnel vision in the analysis of video games, and what might be objectification to one person is a declaration of a sexual history to another person?
Would you like to see moments like this in gaming, but we don't get them because everybody is too afraid?
