Sullivan the Speeding Bullet Review
Hello everyone, first of all sorry for the delay of this review I've been very busy with schoolwork. Anyways Steve Sullivan was the first hero card I completed and he's had a permanent spot on my team since.
Line: 3rd line Sullivan - MS Lindros - MS Modano
Synergies Active that apply to Sullivan: S, 1T, CG, B, TW
Stats: I've had Sullivan for about 250 games and his stats have reset numerous times, however he is always one of my leading goal scorers. Since the last reset he is 54 GP - 20G - 10A - 30P
Skating: 10/10 Sullivan is hands down one of the fastest players in the game. The guy absolutely flies down the ice! His base ratings are 94/93/91/96 for Acceleration/Agility/Endurance/Speed respecitvely and with TW and Speedsters activated he's at an incredible 99/99/93/99 those stats speak for themselves!! Sully has some wheels, which makes him a breakaway machine. He will blow past defenders and goalies for an easy top shelf goal, it's almost effortless.
Shooting: 9.4/10 If Sullivan shoots, most the time it's going to find the back of the net. He has 96/93/96/91 base ratings for SSA/SSP/WSA/WSP and his accuracy shows, especially his slap shot accuracy. His one-timer is incredible! If he is open and you can find a hard pass to him, he will rip it in the net 10/10 times. His WSP doesn't play true to it's stats, I would rate it around 94. You can very be confident when taking wristers with him.
Hands: 9.5/10 Sullivan is a true playmaker. His hands are rated 91/94/93/94 for Deking/Hand-eye/Passing/Puck Control and he can thread a pass very well and his puck control is stellar. He won't make dekes at the insane speeds he can get up to but due to his size he can squeak through traffic and make some tough passes around defenders when he makes cuts into the zone.
Checking: 7.7/10 Now Sullivan is a smaller guy, he's not gunna lay people out like your Grossman, Weber, or Bissonette will but with his speed he's no shrimp as he might fool you into thinking. He can hold his own from a decent knock and that puck control in his hands category helps out a lot with his recovery. His base stats are 90/91/88/92 for Balance/Aggression/Body Checking/Strength which are pretty impressive. His stats really make up for his size here and he's tough to knock completely over unless it's a direct hit from a big player, then you can expect to use an injury card.
Defense: 9.5/10 Sully can actually play a defensive game pretty well. He can poke check a lot better than expected which helps out his breakaway game quite a lot! He's rated 93/89/91 for Def. Awareness/Shot Blocking/Stick Checking and while I've never used him there I'm sure he would make a solid defender if needed.
Overall, Sully is a great card. He's been a game changer in a lot of tight moments for me with his speed and the fact you can rely on his shot to find the net. I love his card and it's going to remain on my team the rest of the year.
