Expired emissions test and temporary tags

Sorry if this is the wrong place but I've left 3 voicemails with the DMV this week and have yet to get an answer. I registered my car and got temporary tags at the beginning of the month using a safety inspection done on 12/14. I need to get full tags on my car however the inspection is older than 60 days now. Do I need to get a second inspection for the full tags or do they no longer need one since I had a valid inspection to get the temporary tags? I have to take off work in order to make the DMV's business hours and would rather not waste the time/money as I have a baby on the way. Thank you for your time.
