My response from Senator Hinds on SD1884

SD1884 – An Act relative to firearms and firearm violence Dear Friend, Thank you for your recent correspondence in opposition to above referenced legislation. My goal is to always be accessible to my constituents, therefore, I am writing with an update. I received a significant amount of testimony in opposition to SD1884 -- almost 100 emails in one day -- all of which will be kept on file for continued reference in my office if this bill is ever brought to a vote in the Senate. Please know this is not my bill, and I am not a co-sponsor of this proposal. I consider myself to be an avid outdoors enthusiast and wish to support our sportsmen. I will soon be meeting local gun shops and sportsmen, as well as legislative agents representing the Gun Owners Action League (GOAL) of Massachusetts to identify policy that would be helpful, and further understand their concerns with this specific bill. Again, thank you for your correspondence. Your comments will certainly help inform my decisions on this matter. My staff and I will continue to track this bill during the legislative session, which you may also do at www.MALegislature.gov. However, please do not hesitate to contact my office in the future if you require any additional information or assistance.

Sincerely,

ADAM G. HINDS, State Senator Berkshire, Hampshire, Franklin and Hampden District

Seems promising considering he is a newly elected and I had no idea which way he would swing on firearm legislation.
