Mechatronics/Mechanical Engineering Advice

Hi, two years ago I qualified as a secondary school Technology teacher (in Ireland) and am now interested in going to back to college to study engineering.

I was hoping someone might give me advice on subjects that would be useful to study before I start back in college? In particular what maths topics will be most important and physics?

Sorry if the question is a bit vague, I am just hoping to get a starting point so I can be prepared when I actually start back.
