[DIPLOMACY] EU Summit @ Innsbruck 2020
After the working lunch in which a few minor bills were put forward, the Austrian chancellor comes to the podium, to address the leaders:
Ladies and gentlemen, today we put forward plans for a new, revamped system to replaced the outdated rules the EU currently has in place, preventing member states from utilising to the max potential links in trade.
We are proposing the following:
- Relaxation of rules surrounding external trade deals and the single market; allowing member states to broker trade agreements that do not apply to the whole of the single market, instead towards the individual country themselves.
- Establishment of whole-single market trade agreements to allow developing nations in Asia, Africa and South America to have greater access to opportunities for EU trade.
- Commissioning a panel to look at ways the EU is restricting trade in the agriculture and manufacturing sectors, and ways this can be promoted.
We would be interesting in hearing your thoughts.
