Dawn of the Tenth Age - Preface
I decided to go ahead and pull up one from the archive. Dawn of the Tenth Age was a story I wrote for my first NaNoWriMo effort back in 2005. The story itself had been bouncing around in my head for the better part of a decade.
It is based on the world of Rym by Ollie Canal. I found it via the furry community back in the day and fell in love with this broken world, crawling back from oblivion after their ancestors had destroyed the gods. While I can't speak for Mr. Canal's intentions, this DnD-styled world was and likely never will be finished. Nor do I have more than a half-hearted 'okay' in regards for permission to use his world, rendering this the thinnest of fanfics at best.
One of the most painful things is the writing itself. I'd like to think I've improved at least a bit in the past 15 years of pounding my face against the keyboard, but I will be making few edits to the text apart from clear typos. It was a NaNo project, so it was stupid rushed and incoherent at parts as I chased what was then an insurmountable word count. That said, the prose is what it is, and if sharing this is a cautionary tale for other writers then so be it.
Without further ado, I shall begin to unearth Dawn of the Tenth Age.
