Looking at OSRS events and RS3 events really makes me wonder why RS3 does their events the way they do.

So, OSRS released an event for their 4th year of existence and compared to our valentine event, the OSRS is vastly superior, feeling genuinely like runescape and capturing the humor very well. This happened with the halloween event as well. I'm just stuck here wondering why RS3 events are just a grind to get cosmetics, instead of a fun 20-30 min event filled with laughs and references. I know the RS3 team is capable, they created Gower Quest, one of the most enjoyable quests I've ever played. Now only if they could do that with holiday events...
