Can capitalism coexist and be beneficial alongside socialism in a society?

I am totally for socialism in the aspects that everyone gets a voice and everyone is taken care of. However, I also understand the benefits of capitalism where there are many unique options of products and services. Even further, I am weary of having government controlled products and services because it would seem like the variety of products and services would decrease. Can the diversity of capitalism products and services exist in a socialist society?
