Nomadic playstyle?

So I've always liked the idea of a nomadic playstyle, also playing a lot of DST has made me kinda sick of bases. :P I was looking at the Shipwrecked bios for Warly and Woodlegs and the wiki actually suggests a nomadic playstyle for both (Woodlegs for obvious reasons), but I've only ever seen people play with bases before and I'm a little curious about how well this actually works.

Does anyone else play in kind of a nomadic way, rather than building a base, in either vanilla, ROG or SW? (I always thought SW was particularly well-suited to it.) Did anyone try to do that and then give up? General nomadic playstyle thread?
