Edit Tab bugged?

I hold down on a tab in my app drawer (ex: sports) to bring up the Edit Tab option to add more apps.

However, I noticed recently that once I lift my finger that the Edit Tab option disappears. The only way to select it is if I hold down on the tab to bring up the option, then slide my finger down to select it without lifting my finger in between.

It never used to be like this AFAIK, and wondering if it's a bug or redesign.
