Informal poll: what day did you surge on fSH?

Odd question, but just wanted to get a sense from people who've done FSH cycles when you ended up surging. I'm about to start my first injectable+IUI cycle, but thanks to my body screwing me over for the millionth time with an unexpectedly late period, I'm worried that the timing will mean that I'll need to go in for the IUI on the first day of a new job, which is not going to fly. A friend of mine just did her first FSH cycle and ended up developing and surging very fast (IUI on CD10!). An earlier surge would help my scheduling woes, but not sure how common that is. Any thoughts/advice welcome. Especially if you have experience doing FSH + timed intercourse, which I may have to do if things don't work out in my favour (but not sure it's even worth it to take the drugs without doing IUI?).
