Should he remember my name?

First convo was cool and all and I thought he was really interesting. So a few weeks later after not seeing him for a while I was like "so what do you want in life and etc" and he was like "is this an interview" and started laughing and then he didnt remember my name. Then it was awkward and I left. Saw him today and got a head nod. Maybe I should give up or did I make it awkward
