After playing hundreds of hours of CCGs I'm finally ready to make the leap and I need some help.

So I've played tons of Hearthstone and Shadowverse, I've also played some online magic just to get an idea for it. I know I can pick up cards from my game store and the guys there are really nice and would be willing to introduce me to the game. However, before I go in I'd like to have an idea of what I want. I like combo decks/OTK decks and I like control decks. I also like to win. What are the best options for me? I'm willing to dish out some money to get started but I'd rather not pay an absurd amount of money (I am a starving college student). Also, what else should I know? I have some general knowledge about card games but I've never played a paper one before. I'm really excited and very curious!
