Three/Four finger gestures on ELAN touchpad

Hi I recently installed Ubuntu Gnome 16.04.2 LTS on my laptop. It has an ELAN touchpad which supports 4 finger gestures which work fine in windows but for some reason only up to 2 finger gestures work on Linux. Can someone please guide me on how to enable all the gestures supported by the touchpad?
