Help me with Terry's F4 decision in Panama

At F4 Terry had two options (as far as I can tell):

1. keep the Immunity Idol and vote for Cirie along with Danielle. This is what he did. Later, when Danielle is deciding whether to bring Terry or Aras for F2, she cites the fact that Terry didn't give her the idol as a factor in choosing Aras. (She also cites some nod Aras and her shared at the FIC but that wasn't on camera. And Aras guilt trips her like crazy but that's Survivor.)

2. give Danielle the immunity idol and vote for Cirie along with Danielle. If Aras and Cirie sniff out that Terry gave up the II, they could vote for him and he's gone because Danielle can't use the idol on him only herself (because it's that weird Panama II). But if Terry makes it through, he has a much stronger alliance with Danielle and a 2/3 chance of F2 instead of a 1/3 chance, right? Granted, it's a risk. But by not giving Danielle the II he's also sorta saying that he doesn't trust her 100% not to write his name down either.

Yeah, Terry's a challenge beast, and there was a good chance he could win the F3 challenge, but if he had cemented trust with Danielle, wouldn't that have been better?
