New hub assembly doesn't want to go in.

I replaced my drivers side a few months ago and decided to do my passenger side today. The old one came out pretty easy, even the axle nut wasn't too bad. But now the new one just doesn't want to snug up. I've just beat on a new hub for ten minutes trying to get it to and it's still not right. I'm hoping when I put the wheel back on I can can crank on the nut enough to get it where it should be?
