Why is Shane so beloved?

I feel like he's basically the exact same player as Phillip and to a lesser extent Lillian. Players with zero strategy and can't at all control their emotions/sharp tongue who somehow make it to the end and end up in positions of power at some point. Phillip in Caramoan that is, not RI Phillip.
