[NSV] Tried on some old pants last night...
I started keto back in April and was really doing well until August, when stuff in my personal life went to crap and I completely relapsed into my old eating habits. (At one point I literally said "I want my body to feel as shitty as my heart does"--lol at my drama) After having gained back about ten pounds, I had a few faltering starts (holidays, whoops) and am really back on the wagon since the second week of January. I've been kind of discouraged though because I don't see the scale moving so much--I got the weight off that I had regained, so I'm back down to a net loss of 35 lb--but trying to just stick to it.
So recently I bought a bunch of new bras because the ones I had before were getting too big. I was originally 42H UK before starting to lose weight, then had those altered after the initial 30 pounds or so, but those ones had also gotten too big, and got resized as 38HH UK--wuuut, I lost two band sizes?!
Then over the weekend I had to buy a new white shirt for a gig (I'm a classical vocalist and was singing in a choral concert) and tried on some other clothes, and bought other clothing since I was vaguely starting to realize things weren't fitting quite right. I sent pictures to friends to ask them what they thought and the first things they said were WHOA, you can really notice the weight loss! And of course I demurred that it was just the angle and lighting and whatnot, etc...
So basically, because I hadn't seen the numbers move in a while, I kind of brushed off visual indications of my continuing loss. Then last night, I was cleaning and purging some of my belongings and came across a couple of pairs of slacks in 20W (I've been wearing 18W lately) and tried them on again to decide whether or not I should keep them. And...they were loose in the waist, sure, but I was shocked at how loose they were in the leg! They used to fit pretty well, and now they looked like clown pants.
It was nice to have the visual reminder of just how much I've lost. One of my small NSVs that I'm really looking forward to is fitting into the normal clothing size range, and not having to shop in plus size anymore--and it shocked me into realizing that I'm a little closer than I thought!
PS sorry for the BIG WALL OF TEXT but this sub in particular has been really inspiring for me--I mostly lurk but I love reading all the stories everyone has, and I was excited to share one of my own :)
