Looking into midipads, thinking about novation launchpad

First of all, sorry if this is in the wrong sub

So I want to get into producing music like Tokyo Machine or Alan Walker (Yes I know they're not similar, I want to do both styles)

So I thought the launchpad is a fun way to go about it, instead of dragging and dropping in a program. So my question is: Would it be an alright idea for someone who has no experience with music other than liking to listen to it pick up a launchpad and programs to go with it?

Also, what launchpad should I get and what program should I get to go with it on a small budget?
