Career paths? 6yrs part time molecular lab/3yrs sub teaching, what else can I do?

Got my bs back in '11 and started part time work as a research assistant at a molecular lab. Then 3 yrs ago I joined a local district as a substitute teacher.

I enjoy my part time at the molecular lab, but with the constant funding shortage in that lab it'll never be full time, nor, aside from grad school recs, a chance of advancement. For a time I even had the duties usually assigned to a postdoc due to funding scarcity.

Also, biosci jobs with no PhD/MS req seem very scarce around here, and even entry lvl positions I'm competing with PhDs with equal or more experience.

The pay as a substitute is far better than the lab, but I really dislike the uncertainty, instability, and lulls of the job. One week I may have work every day, the next month only work a single day.

I want to start a new job hunt and wonder what areas I should or could look for work? I figure I can spin the sub teaching and time training/herding undergrad interns as a sort of management experience.
