Lovecraft-lite Cosmology idea - up for critique
As you may (or more likely, may not) have heard, I'm officially going to start working on Trenchcoat Guy again, but this time I'm getting serious about it. Not that the project itself will be serious... to start out with... I mean, it's a story where an incomprehensible narcissist is distraught over his lack of a face that can be perceived by humans for crying out loud! But anyway, one thing I feel it's been missing was a coherent cosmology, which is usually required for anything Cosmic Horror or a derivative thereof. I used to operate on the old War-Between-Heaven-And-Hell+space-squids, but now I feel like I have a semi-unique idea for how this world is going to operate.
Without further ado, I'd like your opinions:
All we know about God - El - is that They are a neglectful parent. On Their watch the infant Demiurge, who was promised to inherit infinity, was mortally wounded, and now lies dying on the plane of Unlight, bleeding out of its head.
But in the only act of mercy we know El to have done was to give the Demiurge the Emanations. The Emanations are all El - or at least, aspects of Them, caricaturized to fit the child Demiurge's imagination. The Emanations are meant to play with the Demiurge, to tell stories, sing songs and do fun tricks, both to show it a sample of the sensations it could have seen were it allowed to grow up, and to distract it from the cranial injury known as the Big Bang. To El the Emanations are colorful finger-puppets and silly voices, while to the Demiurge they are cuddly, fuzzy little friends. But to us, they are gods, and here is why.
Each of the Emanations' interactions shapes the Demiurge's imagination, and that imagination is the Cosmos we inhabit, imperfect because of its severe bleeding, but beautiful because of the Emanations. Each song creates the natural beauty of the universe, each game forms a natural law, and every story makes a new soul. The Emanations are a colorful cast of friends, with new characters added each millennium. Each one is an aspect of reality, and each one is the inspiration for a human idea of divinity. The Emanation known commonly as YVH is the inspiration of the benevolent god, while the one nicknamed the Reaper is the source of most psychopomps, for example. In addition, most Emanations have Sub-Emanations, different interpretations of an Emanation. This is why there are so many religions. But some Emanations are more obscure, to the point that they are not truly seen as divine figures at all by humans, and these are the Dark Gods, for they are "in the dark" so to speak. Some of them sung and danced things like gravity and inertia into existence.
But one in particular is Fenrir, the inspiration of the bringer of apocalypse. This singularly strange finger-puppet seems to either have a mind of its own or is controlled by El's hidden desire to kill the Demiurge and get on with Their life. In 1985 it attempted to do just that. It jammed itself directly into the Demiurge's exposed brain, causing irreparable damage and bringing it closer to death. This nearly caused the apocalypse, if Fenrir didn't get stuck inside the Demiurge's cranium. It is still lodged in there to this day. Some of the other Emanations are crammed in there as well, trying to fish Fenrir out, and that is why there has been so much Dark God activity as of late.
That's basically all of it. I'm hoping to perhaps create a true lore post in narrative form and everything, if you all like it. Is it too long? Is there anything you find a bit too disturbing? Or is it extremely cliche (I wouldn't be bothered by that to be honest; TG is an urban fantasy kitchen sink)? What are your thoughts?
