Crossroads of learning second language (French vs Spanish)

Hello ladies and gents!

I'm at a crossroads and hope you can help. I'm a senior in college, and will hopefully graduate this fall. My major requires 2 intermediate classes of a foreign language, which I will take during the summer. I have taken a year of introductory French, worked my ass off and ended up getting a B and an A. I exempted out of basic Spanish due to credit from high school.

French

  • Good grades thus far
  • Like the language, but 0 background until college
  • Can't understand sh*t when they start speaking fast Which is where I come to my issue. I tried taking an intermediate course this Spring and dropped it the second day. I can do grammar decent, know a decent amount of vocab, but when it comes to classes where 75% of it is speaking, I'm completely lost.

Spanish

  • Haven't taken a class in 3 years
  • Exempted out of Spanish due to AP
  • At one point I was decently good at it, but I can't remember much.

At this point, I can enroll in either for the summer. I took 3 years of Spanish in HS, but that was also over 3 years ago, and I haven't taken it since. I had no background in French, but I did take 2 semester of basic courses. (101 level)

My question for you, Reddit: Which language would be smarter to learn going forward? I have 3 months to prepare before summer classes. I haven't done any Spanish in years, but I did have a background and had done well in it. I did well in the introductory French, but had no background in it.

As far as how much I like the languages, they are both a wash. Is one more useful than the other business wise?
