What do you like to do when you can't get something down?
I've been working on ollies since last year and still trying to get them down stationary, the idea of doing anything besides standing on my board terrifies me which I now realise is probably part of the problem. Today I went out skating for a pretty long while trying to get the courage to slam my tail down and scrape it to come to a stop but for some reason even that scares me, and I can kind of kickturn but only by like 5 degrees at a time.
I felt kind of shitty about it while I was out but then I remembered how pleased I was that I could ride a board comfortably at all, so tomorrow if it doesn't rain I'll go out and maybe man up to scraping my tail down and doing more kickturns.
When you plateau, is there anything you like doing that motivates you to keep going? I tend to just push around the street as fast as I can and do little carves and roll over tiny curbs and stuff and that makes me happy when I remember last year I couldn't stand on a board.
