Frying fridge with Powerline Ethernet?? Possible?

Hi all,

This will seem like a supremely dumb question, but I'm pulling out all the stops to get to the bottom of this.

My 5 year old Frigidaire Professional fridge recently died. I had both the inverter board and control board fixed by a local repair guy. He said there was a tremendous amount of damage on the boards and he was surprised it would work at all.

Now, this suggests to me that perhaps something was introduced to help fry it in reasonably short order and may not have been something over time.

Fast forward a week and the fridge has died again. Different set of symptoms but same ultimate result (warm food).

I'm in the process of finding out if there's further damage to the boards again.

The only thing that changed in my home setup was the introduction of a Powerline Ethernet setup consisting of two nodes.

Everything I've read said that this shouldn't cause any issue with any appliances or anything else in the home that plugs in. If anything, it seems more likely that the appliances would cause issue with the ethernet performance.

Anyway, like I said, dumb ass question, but if anyone has anecdotal experience with anything like this, I'd welcome it. If there's a chance it's causing the issue, I'll bin the ethernet setup -- these boards are gonna get real expensive, real quick!

Thanks!

tl;dr - Could Powerline Ethernet screw up my fridge's electronics??
