[EVENT] Yemen initiates desalinisation programme
Yemen is the most water-scarce country in the Arab world. To try to address this issue, we will be desalinising the waters of the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden.
We will build 3 large scale large scale desalinization and water treatment facilities, serving about 300,000 people each, which should cost $300 million total. They will be built on the cities of Aden, Al Hudayah and Mukalla. Furthermore, pipelines will be built to move the fresh water in land to farmers and inland cities such as Sanaa, which should cost $10 million.
We are funding this with the Saudi aid money we received a while back. [pretty sure Yemen doesn't have this kind of money on hand]
