Simple RRSP deadline question

I know I'm way over thinking this which is why I can't answer it :) that said ...

The rrsp deadline for 2016 is March 1/2017 which means :

You must put money into your RRSP by 11.59 pm Feb 28th

or does it mean

You must put money into your RRSP by 11.59 pm March 1st
