Good 1 beat swing jazz fills?

When I'm playing a piece that calls for a 1 beat fill it always has written a boring descending tom triplet to lead into the next measure. Usually I replace it with a stylized version or some kind of snare roll, but I've been trying to think of some more things to fill that space and make a quick, smooth transition into the next phrase. Any ideas?
