temp vs watt mode?

I recently began trying the temp mode on my alien mod and I'm very curious as to why it's so different?

-More intense nic hit -Different flavour -More vapor

For example, the current juice I have is a lime slushie, it's a menthol and lime mix, on watt mode it's like 80% menthol flavour, 20% lime, temp mode is like 95% lime 5% menthol.

What causes such a big difference?
