Glum Gabby Looses Power

Over the last couple weeks, my BF has had a much clearer look at Glum's ability to triangulate drama. Which means, she is loosing her hold on everyone.

It started with another pet escape that was scary and dramatic. But Glum always ups the anti.

Everyone (Glum, fSIL, and myself) was rattled - but in the middle of the drama I caught Glum in a lie. I was told that fSIL put a dog in danger, intentionally.

So, I did what any rational, animal loving person would do and laid into fSIL. Like any rational, animal loving person - fSIL was hurt and caught off guard by the allegation. I apologized to fSIL, and the whole drama has actually made us more pleasant to each other.

fBIL got very angry on fSIL's behalf when he got the run down, and his light bulb went off that BF is not the bad guy - Glum intentionally plays them off each other. Duh!

fBIL actually called BF and gave a half-ass apology over some past stuff that he now thinks Glum was at the center of. That's huge in this family dynamic. Yes, that's how pitiful the family dynamic is - a half-ass apology is worth celebrating.

Now everyone is treating Glum like a second class citizen, and she is pouting - she didn't mean it; why is everyone against her?

It also means that fBIL and fSIL want out of the house now. fSIL is actually pushing for it - which is new. And good. And hopeful.

I've also learned that everyone is so used to Glum's BS that they just don't call her out on it. So, I now have a bug up my ass to bring her down a few pegs at a time while keeping a sugary sweet smile plastered on my face. Maybe I need a super hero name.... and a cape.... and to workout to look better in those tights.
